I’ll be the first person to tell you, my skin suffers in winter. It gets dry and flakey, I can’t wear most of my foundations cause they make me look crusty. My makeup routine becomes a small layer of something really light and liquid, cream highlight and contour, and I can forget about setting my face with any kind of powder. The struggle is real. Apologies for the lack of posting in March, I did a bit of travelling and did not have enough time to pre-write or film. I am back though, and back with a simple neutral eye tutorial using a very affordable palette: Makeup Revolution’s Ultra Eyeshadows palette.
I’ve only used this palette once so far (while filming this video) so I don’t want to give it a full review so far but first impressions, this palette is good for the price but some of the shades are a lot harder to work with than others, some don’t show up at all, and some are great!
I was thinking of starting a series where I test out drugstore/affordable eyeshadow palettes and let you know which ones are worth it and which ones aren’t? Let me know what you think! Enjoy the video!

If you know me in real life (many of you don’t, but the ones who do can attest to this), there is one thing I am known for makeup wise; and that is eyeliner. Winged liner has been my go-to everyday makeup look since I started wearing makeup. There was a time where I used to refuse to leave the house without a wing. I used to get written up in secondary school for being late to class because I had missed my bus trying to get my eyeliner right. Liner is my shit, I am a seasoned liner veteran. Continue reading
I discovered Sleek just over a year ago and it’s been one of my favourite drugstore makeup brands since, not only is it super affordable but I’ve yet to buy a product of theirs that I didn’t really like.
One of the first products I ever bought from them was their i-Divine palette. I was looking for a simple browny-neutral palette that was suitable for everyday, but as I don’t wear eyeshadow that often I wasn’t willing to invest much. The Au Natural palette seemed perfect for me, and it was.
